Cutting & Polishing Rough Diamonds
The Company’s principal cutting and polishing factory, Elite Diamonds, is located in the Diamond Centre in Johannesburg. From this location, the Sales & Trading team is able to identify:
- particular diamonds from Namakwa Diamonds or third party rough sources that are suitable for cutting and polishing;
- the different ways in which such diamonds may be cut and polished for particular customers and markets, using both the honed individual skills of its artisan workforce and the latest advances in diamond cutting technology; and
- end source customers for the final cut and polished product, placing Namakwa Diamonds in an advantageous position to that of its peers in the marketplace and making it an attractive source of supply for jewellery manufacturers and wholesale diamond traders alike.
